The T41 steer pictured above was originally owned by renowned Texas cattleman Robert A. Houston of Gonzales. Mr. Houston and his family were some of the largest Trail Drivers in Texas History. He drove numerous herds of cattle up the trail from this area to northern markets. The T41 steer sat atop his mansion in Gonzales until the home was torn down. The T41 brand was the trail brand of Mr. "Bob" Houston. The steer is on loan to the City of Gonzales and now sits atop of the local fire station. The steer presently is owned by the John Charles DuBose family of Gonzales. The City of Gonzales is in charge of maintenance on the steer.
